Any guided tour is possible on request, but we truly suggest one or more of the following itineraries.

Our service guarantees a skillful local guide but we also provide transport on request.
You can choose the duration of the tour (the whole day or half a day) and either lunch is/is not to be included in the cost of the itinerary.
Moreover we can organize an overnight stay so that you will enjoy new and interesting chance sites in your tour.

TA itinerary (about 110 Km)

Lecce: Porta Rudiae - the churches in the refulgent Baroque style with their rich decorations easily carved out of the Lecce stone along via Libertini- Cathedral square: the cathedral- the bell tower- the Seminary- the Bishopric. A visit to a studio where craftsmen make papier-mâché little statues representing saints and scenes taken from everyday life of the people living in the country. This art that craftsmen have known for three centuries ever since has been enriching with masterpieces churches and homes. Piazza S.Oronzo: the Roman amphitheatre ( built in the 2nd century A.D.)- the Sedile ( the ancient Seat of the Mayor)- the chapel of S.Marco- the church of S.Matteo (a mixture of Roman and Lecce baroque)- the Roman theatre (dating back to the 2nd century A.D.)- the breathtaking Basilica dedicated to the Holy Cross- the building complex of the Celestine- palazzo Adorno- Porta Napoli-the Obelisk.

At lunchtime we will stop at a selected restaurant to enjoy the local cuisine.

The church of Saints Niccolò and Cataldo - the cloister of the Olivetans- the monumental cemetery of Lecce.
Santa Maria di Cerrate: the abbey with its frescoes- the porch- the precious capitals- the baroque well- the underground olive mill- the museum of previuous rural society.

TB itinerary (about 150 Km)

tour of the two seas

  • Gallipoli (a foamy stony flower floating on the Jonian sea): the Hellenic fountain; the castle; the cathedral; the palazzi; the Municipal museum; the winding alleys of the old town.
  • Leuca (de Finibus Terrae, the extreme south of Salento and Italy): luxurious houses some of which are beautiful examples of Art Nouveau architecture; the Sanctuary dedicated to the Blessed Virgin; the imposing white lighthouse.
  • The Salentine coastline : lovely sunny landscapes between pinewoods and the coastline fretted with caves and caverns.
  • Castro: the road separates the high part of Castro from the low part “Castro marina” which offers a splendid view of the little harbour crowded with boats and yachts; the stalactites & stalagmites of the “Zinzulusa “ cave where, in a pool, lives the “blind fish” that already existed 200,000 years ago.
  • Santa Cesarea Spa: among the beautiful buildings, a splendid example of Moorish architecture; thermal baths; bathing establishments which give treatment by hydrotherapy and mud baths.
  • Porto Badisco: with its white rocks and canyon. It is the bay where Eneus landed according to what Virgil tells in the Aeneid.
  • Capo d'Otranto: the Cape at the extreme east of Italy.
  • Otranto (town of the 800 martyrs): In 1480 the Turks, after a long siege, burst into the town and slaughtered the people who still survived. The men were forced to choose between martyrdom and abjuration. They preferred to die and were beheaded. The bones of the 800 martyrs can be seen in the chapel dedicated to them in the cathedral where all over the floor spreads the famous mosaic by Pantaleoni (800 square metres); the crypt; the Byzantine church of St.Peter with its Greek cross plan; the rampart; the castle.

TC itinerary (about 75 Km)

Grecìa Salentina

  • Galatina: the courtyarded houses; baroque & rococo palazzi; the splendid basilica of S.Caterina, ordered by Raimondello Del Balzo-Orsini. It is one of the rare monuments in Gothic style in Salento and it is richly decorated with frescoes of Giotto’s school of painting; the Tarantati rite which is being revived by folk music and songs that awake an irresistible need to dance.

At lunchtime we will stop at a selected restaurant.

  • Soleto: with its beautiful bell tower built by Matteo Tafuri who was considered to be a necromancer. The legend says that he built the tower in one night with the help of the devil who, caught by the light at dawn was changed into a stony figure. He is still up there waiting for you!; the little church of St. Stephen with its frescoes in the Byzantine manner.
  • Sternatìa: the Marquis Palace; the underground olive mill.
  • Melpignano: the cloister of the Augustinian monks; the Marquis Palace (under restauration); the suggestive piazza S.Giorgio and its arcade.
  • Corigliano d'Otranto: the wonderful baroque façade of the castle; the magic symbols carved into Lucchetti Arch.
TD itinerary (about 270 Km)

Ostuni (the White Town surrounded by the ancient walls): the narrow winding alleys; the limestoned houses; the cathedral; the palazzi in the old town.
Valle D’Itria: the sights.

Lunch in a selected restaurant in Alberobello.

Alberobello (the capital of trulli - it is a fantastic little town like the ones described in fairy tales stretching in the sunlight): the Monti and Aia Piccola districts; the Siamese twin trullo; the church in the form of a trullo; the house D’Amore.

TE itinerary (about 75 Km)

Galatone: the cathedral; the church of St.Sebastian; the suggestive church of the Crucifix; the quadrangular tower of the Marquis Palace Pinelli; the ex-convent of the Domenican monks (now the seat of the town hall).
Nardò: the wonderful piazza Salandra; the slim steeple of the Immacolata; the baroque church of St.Domenico with richly adorned friezes carved in the local hard stone (carparo); the cathedral; the castle belonging to the Personé family and the Osanna, a medieval circular temple.

Lunch in a selected fortress farm house.

Nardò: the luxurious houses, beautiful examples of Art Nouveau architecture at the Cenate; the high cliffs of Uluzzo bay; the pool of the Captain; the fortress farms: Bellanova & Giudice Giorgio.

TF itinerary (about 115 Km)

Vaste: the archeological site with a faithful reproduction of a Messapian hut; the Rupestrian crypt of SS. Stephens; the paleochristian church in Giuliano property.
Castro: the overhanging castle; the cathedral; the panoramic terraces; a sightseeing tour of the “Zinzulusa” cave ( if the sea is not rough).

Zona di Sombrino: the fortress farm houses; the “casino di caccia” ( the cottage where the hunters went to rest before and after shooting); the “neviere” (holes in the ground where snow was preserved) the dove cote towers; the Basilan hypogeum; the Byzantine oil-mill; the Rupestrian churches; The Madonna di Coelimanna crypt and its Byzantine frescoes; the huge Dalechamp oak tree.
Casaranello: the marvellous mosaics in the church of Santa Maria della Croce.

TG itinerary (about 135 Km)

Tricase: the castle belonging to the Princes Gallone family; Palazzo of the Cadets; the church of St.Domenico; the cathedral in piazza Codacci-Pisanelli; the enormous “Vallonea” oak tree (called “ Of the One Hundred Knights”); the church of the Devil.
Andrano: the castle; the Chapel of the Madonna del Lattarico.

Giurdignano: the crypt of the Saviour; the ruins of the Abbey of the One Hundred Portals; dolmens & menhirs.
Muro Leccese: the little church dedicated to S.Marina and its frescoes.
Carpignano Salentino: the Byzantine crypt of S.Cristina with its frescoes dated 959 (the most ancient in Salento).
