Parks: The Cesine (the largest WWF nature reserve in Italy with salt little lakes beyond the dunes and exotic birds that stop here during their migratory flights) Rauccio Forest, the Arneo, Idume Basin, Capozza Route, Pianelle Forest, Guaceto Tower.
Karst phenomena (caves, dolines, gorges, chasms): the "Spunnulate" (vaultless) in Torre Castiglione (dolines) the Captain's lake (doline), the gorges in Massafra and Laterza, the ravines and the marine caves in Leuca, the chasms in Barbarano, beds of gullies.
Flora: oak trees and remains of ancient oak woods, thousand year old olive groves, natural monuments such as the "Knight's oak" in Tricase, the wild orchids, the Iris Revoluta and all the other rare species of flora.
Sheets of water: the little lake in the abandoned bauxite cave in Otranto, Alimini lakes.
Museums: the Natural History Museum in Lecce and Calimera, the Marine Biology Museum in Porto Cesareo and Taranto, the Paleontology Museum in Maglie.
At sea: Motor boat trips to the sea caves in Leuca.
Sports: you can go trekking, hiking or have a bicycle ride or go horseback riding along natural trails.
